The last assignment of Design History. We were tasked to redesign an existing brand based on one of the art styles/eras we learned about. My group went with Snapchat and we redesigned it around early mac OS. We also sort of fused it with pictochat and took other forms of early digital layout (like Gameboy, Tamagotchi) as inspiration

Nostalgia (Y2K stuff is making a bit of a resurgence), but also as a way to differentiate it from other forms of social media. Images and text would be in that early digital look as oppossed to regular photos/videos taken from phones. Ended up really liking the idea of a social media site that’s more focused on small groups of friends doodling/chatting.
